Impressive Kindle Best Price

By Maxine Trawney

The Kindle eBook reader was first introduced to the consumer market in 2007. With each new generation of Kindle from Amazon, the features have significantly improved. When the second generation Kindle was released in 2009, people were already lining up to get the Kindle best price they can find. The following year, Amazon then released the third generation Kindle. Although this new Kindle was released just one year after the second generation Kindle was introduced, there are some differences between both models that are quite noticeable.

When you look at the dimensions, the new Kindle differs quite a bit from its predecessor, the Kindle 2. With the third generation Kindle's smaller 7.5 x 4.8 inch stature, compared to the previous Kindle's 8 x 5.3 inch size, the most recent Kindle model looks more like a conventional paperback pocketbook than any of the previous Kindle models.
When it comes to the thickness of both devices, the Kindle 3 is a bit slimmer at only 0.335 inches thick, compared to the Kindle 2's 0.36 inches. Weight-wise, the new Kindle is a few ounces lighter, weighting in at 8.5 ounces; whereas the previous model weighs in at around 10.2 ounces. However, although the Kindle 2 is quite larger than the most recent model, they both have exactly the same screen display sizes, which measures at 6 inches.

Another major disparity between the two models is the screen contrast. Although the Kindle 2 already has an impressive screen contrast, with its high resolution screen display, the E Ink or electronic Ink technology is actually what makes the device easy to read even under the glaring sun. With the third generation Kindle, however, Amazon.com claims that the screen contrast has improved by fifty percent more than the previous Kindle. This is due to the more advanced "E Ink Pearl Technology" that is featured in the device, which provides clearer texts and sharper images.

The storage capacity of the new Kindle is also greatly improved with four gigabytes of storage space. It has essentially doubled the capacity of the Kindle 2. Compared to the Kindle 2, which can only store around 1,500 titles, the third generation Kindle can store up to 3,500 books. This is why people from all over are lining up to get the Kindle best price they can find. Even the owners of the previous model are getting interested as well.

Finally, the experimental features that come with the Kindle 2, such as the built-in MP3 player, a standard web browser, PDF document conversion, and the text-to-speech feature, are available in the Kindle 3 as well. This comes with the exception of an enhanced PDF document conversion and a new and improved Web-kit based browser, which is much faster than that of the Kindle2. The new Kindle will surely give its rivals a run for their money.
