Ipads Advantage Over The Kindle

By Jerry Coataz

In the middle of the year in 2010, Apple released its newest revolutionary device which was the iPad. In the same year, people were startled at the differences between Apple's newest product and the Amazon's e-Reader known as the Kindle. The latter has been Amazon's best seller for several months since its launch. So, how does Apple iPad differ from Amazon's Kindle? Let's take a look at some main differences between the two hottest gadgets around.

First, let us evaluate each product according to its readability. Basically, the Amazon's Kindle is a device mainly used only for reading e-Books. The capabilities and features of this product were especially designed to make it the best e-Reader around. Unlike the iPad, Kindle's screen is not made up of an LCD screen, but a different technology that makes displaying text almost similar to real paper. Moreover, you can use the Kindle even under direct sunlight since it does not produce any glare and there are minimal complaints of eye strain and wearisome eyes. Certainly, Kindle is very efficient as an e-Book reader, providing a relatively high readability, and created to prevent any eye problems even if one uses it for extended periods of time. It was essentially produced to be the most effective reader of e-Books and certainly performs to its ultimate capacity.

On the other hand, the iPad has an LED back-lit screen that makes reading difficult under direct sunlight, or even outdoors when there's too much provision of light. As a matter of fact, the iPad is never ideal for outdoor use because of this issue. Still, many people prefer this device because it can serve not just as an e-Book reader, but has many other functions and capabilities. The iPad can perform numerous multi-media functions efficiently that the Kindle could never equal. More so, people are more amazed of the iPad's 9.7-inch screen, compared to the Kindle's 6-inch. If you have read any iPad vs Kindle reviews you'll fined out why a Free Apple iPad is better than any Kindle.

The lowest storage capacity iPad costs only $499, which contains 16GB of space and Wi-Fi capability. The price is almost double with the version that contains 64GB of space and 3G capability. In fact, the iPad costs nearly the same price as a standard laptop available in the market today. On the other hand, the Kindle is so much cheaper compared to the iPad. From Kindle's previously affordable price, it has significantly went down to only $139 along with its basic features that include the Wi-Fi capability, adding $50 for the 3G access, while the larger version of Kindle DX costs $379.

Furthermore, the iPad and Kindle differ according to their portability. The Kindle was produced mainly as an e-Reader that is why it's very portable, making it easy, comfortable, and convenient to carry around and about. Its design is perfect for travelers who, without a doubt are bookworms. As a matter of fact, you can carry this device inside your handbag, even without making use of a laptop bag or a briefcase. It weighs only half pound, while the iPad weighs one and half pounds for the regular version and 1.6 pounds with 3G capabilities. Surely, the one pound difference makes the Kindle lighter than the iPad, indicating that Kindle is more portable. As well, the battery life of the Kindle may last for almost a month, compared to iPad's battery that can last only up to 10 hours. With these said features, the Amazon Kindle is undoubtedly better when it comes to portability.

Definitely, each product is preferred by people in accordance to their readability, portability, cost, and other features. But the truth is that each device has its own unique features, efficiency, and functionality.
