Mystical Beast Quest and Adam Blade,

By Gav Hodge

Beast Quest Books are written by Adam Blade. The Beast Quest series was first published in 2007. There are soon to be nine series in publication. Additionally orchard also publish other beast quest related books. The books are well written east to follow and engage 7 to 10 year old minds,

Tom is the main character in the book. Thrust into the hero role by some unfortunate family circumstances he takes up the kings challenge and embarks on a quest to free the kingdom of Avantia from the evil beasts that once protected. It. Elenna is Toms trusty side kick often the heroine saving Toms skin. ( I personally think she carries a flame for him)

Together with our main human heroes Tom and Elenna additional trusty characters also do their bit to save Avantia. These character play and part in all the Beast Quest books and consist of Silver - Elenna wolf friend a and Strom Toms faithful black steed. Like our main heroes they are both brave, quick and loyal, always prepared to face any peril which awaits them.

Avantia and its neighbours have a Multitude of beasts to contend with. Each usually have 6 of various descriptions. Avantia has good Beasts, that protect the land, called Ferno, Sepron, Arcta,, Tagus, Nanook , and Epos. The Forbidden Land is in Avantia but is the place that Tom ventures to in Series 4 to fight Nixa, Equinus, Rashouk, Luna, Blaze and Stealth (Stealth and Blaze are the only Beasts fought outside the Forbidden Land). Other lands have beast of all shapes and sizes. Some fly, some swim, some breath fire or control the elements. All are magical and mystical and engage a Childs a child imagination.

I would recommend the beast quest series to any parents who want their kids to read. They are simply written but challenging enough for competent readers. They seem to have the knack of engaging the child and usually they want more.
